Storage Calculation

Storage usage is calculated using Cubic Feet. All incoming material is measured at the time of receipt and the space used is calculated based on this measurement. Huron Logistics utilized a Automatic Storage and Retreival System (ASRS) to maximize our warehouse utilization and minimize the manpower needed to store and retrieve items. This investment in technology means that our storage costs are much lower than our competitors and we can offer you very attractive storage rates.

All of our storage calculations are based off of the cubic foot of your product. To get the number of cubic feet used by your product multiply the length x width x height in inches and divide by 1728. For example if your product is in a box that is 8x6x4 inches each unit would be 0.11 cubic feet, or just $0.02 per month per unit to store. 1000 units would be 111 Cubic feet. At $0.20/ft3 that works out to $22.23/month storage cost for 1000 units.

FT3 = Lenght * Width *Height / 1728
